Trish Adams, a resident of Wellington Square, puts the finishing touches to the planting of a small-leaved lime tree Tilia Cordata Greenspire outside her home, sponsored by Pittville Conservatives. The tree was one of 100 being planted to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Cheltenham. The Centenary Trees project was developed with support from businesses, friends and members.

Locations for all the trees were identified following discussions with Cheltenham Borough Council, Cheltenham Borough Homes and Gloucestershire County Council, and Pittville Conservatives was quick to step forward to sponsor the lime tree in Wellington Square.

Stephan Fifield, a Conservative campaigner in Pittville, said he had been delighted to work with landscape architect Sue Jenkins to make the sponsorship succeed for the people of Pittville.
